Today, the property provides 96 fully-featured apartment units serving the growing need for affordable housing options within the City of Chicago. The development\u2019s retail component, which includes the new Walmart Neighborhood Market, represents a significant milestone for the neighborhood and satisfies a critical void for full-line grocery options and access to fresh food. In fact, until the Walmart retail store opened in October 2014, the nearest grocery store was over a mile away making it difficult for low-income families to access quality food selections. The Walmart Neighborhood Market also successfully brought 100 full- and part-time jobs to Bronzeville.
